Event description

Description

SolidWorks is an industry-standard CAD (Computer Aided Design) program and the Westport Library has a license for using it in the Library. Now, you can learn to use the same software. By the end of the 5-week course, participants should be able to create a 3D model from a 2D blueprint and convert their models into engineering diagrams. The tools learned will allow the creation of models for personal design and manufacturing projects. Grades 8-adult. Registration limited to 10.

Prerequisites:
The ability to create 3D models in a non-introductory modeling program such as SketchUp (TinkerCad does not qualify.) A model you have created in your preferred CAD program must be submitted prior to the first class.

This is a free program for those who attend. Because we are able to admit only a limited number of students, you will be charged $30 upon registration. A full refund will be issued upon attendance or notification of inability to attend sent to mpastel@westportlibrary.org by Friday, November 4, and we can fill your spot.
