Description

Students are introduced to the basics of cyber security with emphasis on concepts relevant to business and industry. The course is arranged as a series of four one-hour lectures that cover the following: (1) An overview of cyber threats to business assets; (2) an introduction to challenges in modern enterprise architecture, (3) a tutorial on secure eCommerce protocols and infrastructure, and (4) an explanation of transition to cloud-hosted applications. The course is designed to move quickly with practical case studies and attention to controversial topics including foreign supply chain risks and drawbacks in regulatory compliance frameworks.

Instructor: Dr. Edward G. Amoroso serves as Research Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering in the Center for Cyber Security (CCS). He is the former Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer for AT&T (retired), and is the founder and CEO of a New York-based cyber security advisory start-up called TAG Cyber. Dr. Amoroso's experience includes time spent on the Board of Directors of M&T Bank, the Board of Trustees of the Stevens Institute, and the NSA Advisory Board (NSAAB). He is author of seven books on cyber security translated into five languages.
