Introduction to Cyber Espionage
Thu, March 8, 2018, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST
This non-technical awareness training session will provide security professionals, IT personnel, academic researchers, intelligence analysts, police investigators and corporate managers a strategic understanding of the threats from state sponsored cyber spies. In particular, the participants will learn through a series of case studies about various cyber espionage operations that have targeted government departments and agencies, private sector corporations and critical infrastructure operators. Each of the case studies will provide in-depth analysis of the threat actors behind the cyber attacks and their motivations, which ranges from the theft of classified information or trade secrets to battle field shaping. The participants will also gain insight into the modus operandi used by the different threat actors. Finally, the participants will learn how to leverage cyber intelligence to detect, analyse and investigate cyber espionage operations.
