NOTE: This event can be attended live at the ACHS Campus in Portland, OR or via live Internet stream (from anywhere in the world!).

In this live class, we will discuss some of the steps involved in creating a therapeutic essential oil blend. We will discuss how to choose a functional focus for a therapeutic blend, how to pick which essential oils to use while balancing the following: therapeutic actions, aromas, client preferences, and safety. We will practice this process in class and design a therapeutic essential oil blend for a case study example.

Learning objectives for this class are:

  • Describe the steps involved in creating a therapeutic essential oil blend.
  • Describe how to choose a focus for a therapeutic essential oil blend,
  • Describe how to choose which essential oils to use in a therapeutic essential oil blend.
  • Describe tools which can be used to find balance between aroma, therapeutic actions, safety, and client preferences.
  • Discuss general bottling, labeling, skin patch testing, and instructions which should accompany a therapeutic essential oil blend.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Amanda Lattin, BA, MAT, Dip. Aroma., MH, RA is an experienced aromatherapist, herbalist, and teaches extensively at ACHS and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Amanda is a graduate of ACHS and also holds a BA in Chemistry from Huntingdon College and a Masters of Teaching with a concentration in Chemistry from Lewis and Clark College.
