Introduction to Cleaner Power on Location

The way we use power on location is changing. New kit and smarter planning are enabling film and TV productions to reduce their environmental impact, often creating a nicer working environment and saving budget.

Join BAFTA albert, BECTU Vision and Culture for Climate Scotland to explore:

  • What the choices are and what to consider for your shoot
  • How to forecast and plan temporary power needs
  • How to make the business case for change
  • We'll cover the basic knowledge and take a look at some kit in action.

This familiarisation session is for experienced crew, keen to understand the principles of cleaner power and power planning on location. It will particularly suit Location Managers, Unit Managers, Production Managers, Line Producers and Facilities Companies based in Scotland.

The session will be led by Sustainability Consultant and clean power planning specialist, Steve Knight from Creative Zero.

There will be an opportunitiy for refreshments and networking during the coffee break.

The event will be held on the first floor and there is a wheelchair accessible lift available.

BAFTA albert is supported by funding from the BFI National Lottery Sustainable Screen Fund.

BECTU Vision has majority funding from Screen Scotland, BFI Skills Cluster Fund in partnership with BBC Scottish Union Learning and Bectu.

Culture for Climate Scotland is supported by Screen Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Glasgow City Council and South of Scotland Enterprise.
