Build your team’s confidence with this light touch introduction to child protection and safeguarding. This online training provides practical advice to help build confidence around child protection issues within the context of developing and delivering creative and cultural projects.

This is a free training event for South East Cultural Education Partnership Members only and is being fully subsidised by the South East Bridge Programme.

Ideal for:

  • Everyone working in the arts and cultural sectors with children and young people who has not previously attended child protection of safeguarding training

You will gain:

  • An introduction to current child protection legislation and guidance documents
  • Best practice on handling disclosures.
  • Creative activity to help you to identify the ways in which you connect with children and young people.
  • Identifying risk in your own context
  • Creating safe environments and promoting wellbeing

How will this interactive training session work?

We will provide you with a Zoom login link in time for the session, which will be free for you to use. You do not need to have a Zoom account. You will need access to a computer or smartphone that has video capabilities.

Please note:

  • You will need to log into Zoom by 10:15am at the latest (introductions start at 10:00).
  • Please only book one ticket per organisation - more than one member of staff can take part.
  • You are able to leave the training at any time.
  • We ask that you let us know your support needs in advance so we are able to prepare.
