Description
As part of 'Sign Language Week' in March, deafPLUS are pleased to launch a series of short half-day basic Introduction to BSL courses. This course will be held at deafPLUS Bromley on Wednesday 16th May in the afternoon.
What is the 'Introduction to BSL' course about?
In this course, you will learn to communicate with Deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) at beginner level on a range of topics using simple, everyday language.
What we will cover?
You will learn BSL communication skills at beginner level relating to the following topic areas such as:
- learning the fingerspelling alphabet
- greeting people
- using numbers
- weather
- transport and getting around
How is the course delivered?
A Deaf BSL tutor will deliver the following practical exercises:
- demonstration
- pair/group work
- question and answers.
Are there any costs?
It costs £30 per person and includes digital handouts and a certificate of attendance.
