Introduction to Breathwork
Overview
Welcome to the Introduction to Breathwork event! Join us at Moonlit Crystals & Gems for an evening of relaxation and self-discovery.
This class welcomes everyone—no experience needed!
Breathwork is more than a wellness trend; it’s a science-backed approach to health that helps regulate your body and mind. Drawing on the research of Dr. Stephen Porges and polyvagal theory, you’ll learn how conscious breathing shifts your state from stress or overwhelm to one of calm and safety. The polyvagal theory describes how our vagus nerve supports feelings of safety, connection, and healing by regulating heart rate, breath, and digestion—offering us a roadmap for nervous system resilience.
Joseph brings 10+ years of global experience teaching nervous-system-based breathwork to thousands, blending science, sound therapy, and accessible practices. His teaching is informed by both personal recovery and formal certifications, including the Wim Hof Method, offering trauma-aware, safe, and supportive techniques for self-regulation and emotional balance.
In this two-hour session, you’ll:
• Explore the basics of breath and its influence on your state of mind and body
• Experience guided practices that activate your “rest and digest” system and support well-being
• Understand how breathwork can help with anxiety, overwhelm, and daily stress
• Learn in a warm, relaxed, and inclusive space, with options for all comfort and ability levels
Whether you’re looking to deepen your self-care, help your nervous system recover, or simply want to try something new, this class is perfect for you. Bring comfortable clothing and an open mind—all are welcome!
