Come to Eileen Fisher's Upper Westside location for a presentation on UN Women's program Voices Against Violence led by the Metro NY Chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women.
UN Women has partnered with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to develop an innovative non-formal education curriculum and program to educate and empower boys and girls ages 5 to 25 years that promotes respectful relationships and gender equality and prevents violence against women and girls. After completing the training program, youth participants develop locally relevant advocacy and community mobilization efforts to change gender stereotypes and norms that contribute to violence against women and girls. The program is currently in 30 countries with plans to scale up and train 1,500 youth leaders in ten new countries including the U.S., reach 300,000 youth, and develop additional strategies to reach more young people.
Join us to learn more about this awe-inspiring program and to support UN Women's efforts to end gender-based violence. Light refreshments will be served.
