Event description

Description

Introducing Fauna del Noroeste, a non-profit dedicated to the science of conservation in Baja California.

Please join Carol and Alan in welcoming Anny Peralta and Jorge Valdez, the founders of Fauna del Noroeste, to an inaugural celebration in the Oakland Hills. Working from a basis in science, Fauna del Noroeste will develop the science of conservation for one of the most diverse, and threatened, areas in North America. The founders are two amazing herpetologists (Anny just received her Ph.D., studying the endangered Red-legged frog in Baja's Sierra San Pedro Mártir). Please come to find out more, and support these young scientists who have already done so much for this region.

A U.S. tax-deductible donation is requested, and their new book, Unique plants and animals of the Baja California Pacific Islands will also be available. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation here.

Please call Alan @ 510 394 5170 for more information or to organize carpools.
