Event description
An evening featuring short presentations from artists, designers and technologists exploring the intersection of science and culture.

About this Event

Join us for an evening presenting new ideas at the intersection of art, design and science and featuring new members of NEW INC's Science Sandbox supported Creative Experiments track—a program for people exploring science-based areas of research through an artistic lens.

Introduced by John Tracey, Associate Program Officer, Science Sandbox and Creative Experiments track Mentor in Residence, Fiona Raby, author of Speculative Everything, Creative Experiments members will give a lightning talks about their current areas of research.

Presenters include Namita Modi (MAD+FAB), Xin Liu and Gershon Dublon (slowimmediate), Veena Vijayakumar (Biodesign Challenge), Hannes Bend (breathing.ai), Heidi Boisvert (futurePerfect lab), Laura Splan, Erica Bernhard (COVALENT), Janet Biggs, Frank Melendez (bioMATTERS), and Keith Kirkland (WearWorks). See presenter bios here.

The event will take place in the New Museum Sky Room, and conclude with a cocktail reception. RSVP is essential.

Supported by Science Sandbox, the Creative Experiments track at NEW INC is focused on engaging creative practitioners who are exploring artificial intelligence, robotics, biotech, digital manufacturing, and other science-based areas of research through their practice.

Science Sandbox is an initiative of the Simons Foundation dedicated to inspiring a deeper interest in science, especially among those who don’t think of themselves as science enthusiasts. sciencesandbox.org
