Course designed to introduce students to the many facets of woodworking. Major emphasis is on the safety and use of power tools with hands on use. The development of safe and effective habits is emphasized. Homework consists of reviewing slides of material dealing with the mental aspects of planning, preparation, selection of material and finishing of wood projects. Workshops will emphasize the safe use of power tools through practical hands on experience.
Course is designed for teens age 14 and up with a parent or guardian available. Teens have priority. Parent or Guardian must 1) attend the course with the teen or 2) be present and available during the class.
Accommodations will be made for school testing programs with special classes at more convenient time.
This class is an Eight-week class, starting on 4 June, and running weekly until 30 July (skipping 2 July for the holiday weekend)
About the Instructors
A team of highly qualified, experienced woodworkers will instruct in the mental aspects of woodworking and concentrate on "hands on" training with associated power tools.
