Dive into the wonderful world of Wordpress with this overview class that

sessions in a single long afternoon with a 15 minute snack break in the
We'll go through a basic blog setup on a host server, as well as the
Wordpress user-interface. Then we'll coast into Wordpress themes and
offer a brief explanation of the pro's and con's of building with a free
versus a premium theme, and brief details on how and why you might want to
learn to edit the CSS of your theme directly. Finally we'll move on to a
practical toolkit of recommended plug-ins that will help you move more
seamlessly from staging to launch.
Once you get your blog up and running, you must maintain and publicize.
Of course, given that "there's a plug-in for that"-- you can do even more.
Part two talks to blog tweaking that helps you position your blog to an
advertiser, drive traffic, add community tools, integrate e-commerce,
streamline your content for iPhone or iPad presentation and more.
Brought to you by Astrida Valigorsky, a NYCR member who has been building
Wordpress customizations for a variety of clients since 2006.
Class hours 1-5pm with a 15 minute snack break at the middle.
