Intro to Version Control using Git Workshop

Amy Dickens, GitHub Campus Rep

Keeping track of files can be tricky. Whether you have a text document, data set or code base, there is always a risk of having multiple versions and not knowing which is the current or working directory.

Version Control Systems like Git help us to manage this and are super important in day to day workflow. So if you're collaborating on code or managing multiple shared files knowing how to use version control systems can be a game changer.

Join Amy (your friendly GitHub Campus Rep) for a casual lunchtime workshop that will introduce version control with git, from how to start using it to concepts like the GitHub flow and the many things you can do with the GitHub platform (GitHub is like dropbox for version controlled files).

Please note this workshop is for EVERYONE (no coding knowledge required)

The event is free to attend. Tea and coffee will be provided - booking is to give numbers for catering purposes.

Please note that a University card is required to enter the ESLC Graduate Centre.
