Description

Intro to the Epilogue Fusion Laser Cutter

Have you ever wished that you could cut stuff with a laser? Now is your chance! Sign up for this class today and you will learn how to cut and engrave with the Epilogue Fusion laser cutter. Check out this Instructables tutorial and the epilogue fusion website for more information about the machine we will be using and how it works.

In addition to learning how to operate the laser cutter at our facility, there will be a brief introduction to designing and processing a file with Inkscape. Inkscape is a free open source software that is both easy to use and to learn. Here is a link to inkscapetutorials.org for you to explore. Please bring a laptop that you have installed inkscape on, but this is not required.

  • Class Length: Two hours

  • Prerequisites: None, but previous experience with photoshop or inkscape is helpful.

  • Bring a laptop if you got one, so you can follow along with demo’s.

Once you have learned the basics of operating the device and how to design files for the laser cutter, you will be ready to set your creativity free on this amazing machine! So come join us and learn how to make cool stuff at the Bellingham Foundry Makerspace!
