Event description

Description

Want lively thinking and enjoyable collaboration?

Join an online, interactive one-hour intro to proximity thinking with ProxThink creator David Loughry. You’ll get a big-picture overview, new approaches and next steps. Includes ideas, concepts, the website, interactive development of examples and time for questions.

What is Proximity Thinking?

It's a proximity-focused framework for creativity, innovation, problem-solving, sustainability and living.

Essence of Proximity Thinking

The ProxThink framework consists of three integrated parts:
• The Basics help us describe and discuss situations.
• The ProxPatterns are especially helpful for creativity, innovation and problem-solving.
• The Growth Model boosts collaboration and encourages growth for people who share a proximity, helping shared situations come alive.

What We'll Do

After intro slides, we’ll take a quick tour of the website. Then we’ll walk through the three parts of the framework, with people contributing examples in some sample situations. You can ask questions as we go and at the end.

How to Attend

You'll attend via the AnyMeeting system, either in a browser on your laptop/computer, or within the AnyMeeting app on your tablet (Android or iPad). If using a tablet, get the free AnyMeeting app before the session (via the App Store or Google Play).

Sign Up with a Proxri

Proxri (pronounced prox’ree) is short for one or more ProxRewards, which are rewards made with the proximity in mind. How do you proxri? Basically, you consider the proximity, including your benefits, your circumstances, the other party’s circumstances, and some wider context, and then proxri as appropriate. A proxri may include money, things, services, ideas, tasks, relationships, actions, and so on, as well as a combination of these. Of course, you can proxri more later. Adding together pre-workshop and any post-workshop amounts, a total proxri of at least $10 is suggested, but since this is proxri, it's up to you. However, I need at least about $50 in total upfront proxri to do the workshop to make up for losing other work, and may need to reschedule based on that (so bring some friends!). See the next section for progress towards that. If you can't make the rescheduled date, you'll get a refund. For more on my circumstances, see my general ProxMonitor. If you prefer to proxri in a non-financial way, contact me with the contact link in the organizer section below. Thanks!

ProxMonitor for $50 Minimum Total Proxri to Hold Workshop

As mentioned in the previous section, I need at least about $50 in total upfront proxri to do the workshop. This number comes from adding the pre-workshop proxri of all attendees who have signed up so far. If some proxri are non-financial, I'll factor that in. I'll update this ProxMonitor on a daily basis so you'll know if the workshop is a go!
Current total proxri of all attendees signed up so far: $0.

No Preparation Required

You are welcome to look around the ProxThink site before the session, but it is NOT required.

Terms of Use

By signing up, you're agreeing to the ProxThink Terms of Use, which boring as it is, is probably the friendliest terms of use you've seen. Why? Mainly because parts of it, including the Proxri Deal, Collaboration Deal, Online Session Agreement and Intellectual Property Deal integrate some of the proximity thinking framework. This makes it a better fit for our connected world.
