Description

This session is intended for students with no experience or minimal experience in printmaking to drop in to our fully equipped print shop. Students can explore the basic principles of printmaking under the guidance of the instructor. The students will be able to learn concepts of printmaking such as its definition, history as a fine art and theory behind different techniques such as solar plate etching, monotype and woodcut. No prior print or drawing experience is necessary. Proper tool usage and maintenance will be stressed as well as materials handling, registration of multiple colors and effective clean up and shop etiquette.

This drop-in session runs every Sunday from 9am-12pm

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

There is no ID or minimum age requirements. We do ask that if attendees are under 18, their parents sign a waiver of liability and parents can certainly attend with their younger children.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Visual Philosophy has a parking lot available to attendees as well as a $7 all day parking lot less than a block away. HWY 280, 87 and Diridon Caltrain station are very close.

What can I bring into the event?

Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and/or lunch to each session. There is a cafe nearby which has a range of food and drink options as well. Please also bring any reference material you would like to use for your drawings. You can also bring a camera to take pictures and record the class for review later or posting to social media!

What's the refund policy?

By purchasing a course or workshop, you are obligated to provide payment in full prior to the start date. Courses and workshops may be cancelled 5 days in advance with money returned. Course and workshop tuition purchased but not completed in full or by the start of course can not be refunded.
