These three-hour clinics run by Swim Art will prepare you to swim comfortably in open water. We will teach you everything you need to know: how to relax in open water, how to work with the cold, how to sight, how to swim more efficiently, and how to enjoy yourself.
The program includes a one-hour talk followed by one hour spent in the water doing drills. If you are interested in trying OW swimming for the first time, have some fear about the cold, or want to transfer your pool swimming skills to a more challenging environment, this intro clinic is a perfect for you.
You must be able to swim four lengths of the pool, crawl stroke, without stopping. This is not a technique clinic.
Equipment to have for the clinic:
- Lots of warm clothes and a hat to put on after you swim
- Bottle of warm water to clean the sand off your feet off after
- Body Glide or Vaseline (if you don't have any we'll have some extra, too)
- Swim Suit
- Wetsuit (optional)
- Earplugs, if your ears are at all sensitive to the water
- Trash bag to take your wet wetsuit home in
Eventbrite will process your credit card at the time you register. A full refund (not including Eventbrite's processing fee) is available up to six days before the clinic (for a Sunday clinic, this would be the Monday before the clinic). After six days, a refund is not available. You may transfer your registration to another clinic with no extra charge. To transfer a registration to someone else, let us know at least one day before the clinic that you are signed up for.
