About this event
In this 6-week course, veteran musical improviser Tyler Paterson will teach you the fundamentals behind improvising musical numbers! From understanding song structure, to emulating vocal and character styles, to incorporating movement, both beginning and experienced improvisers will discover new ways to stand in front of a crowd and confidently belt out a song. Each week will focus on a particular type of improvised song you might see in an improvised musical (see below).
February 2 - Openers and Closers/Group Numbers
February 9 - Verse/Chorus
February 16 - Duets
February 23 - Protagonist Songs
March 2 - Villain Songs
March 9 - Putting it all together
March 16 - SNOW DAY (just in case!)
Students must be 18+ to participate. Must have completed Level 101 with Stranger Than Fiction or a comparable improv school. No musical experience necessary. Space is limited!
Class meets Thursdays, February 2 through March 9 from 7 to 9PM. Snow Day March 16th.
