This workshop meets three times, total in-class 9hrs:

October 9th, 6.00pm-9.00pm

October 16th, 6.00pm-9.00pm

October 23rd, 6.00pm-9.00pm


What you'll learn in this javascript class:

You do not need to be a skilled coder to take this beginner level Javascript course. If you are interested in pursuing a high in demand web developer career, this course is a great start to build your fundamental knownledge.

This course is designed to teach true concepts about the worlds most popular web language as well as make coding fun.

You will learn how the DOM works, which is an essential piece to the overall webs architecture and how users communicate with browsers.

Then you will get to code your very first web application.


Specific objectives include:

  • The nature of the client, server and browser on the web
  • How Javascript is connected to HTML (Visual elements on a webpage)
  • Analyzing the nature of the DOM (How the browser interprets Javascript code)
  • Coding a live web application

Course prerequisites:

  • Have a working laptop
  • (NOT REQUIRED BUT HELPFUL): Knowledge of a little HTML
  • Download a text editor (Sublime Text or Atom.IO are popular ones)
