Curious about Islam? Concerned about Islamophobia but not familiar enough to debunk misconceptions? This 2-part series is your chance to deepen your own understanding and awareness of Islamic beliefs and practices.

Session 1: Monday, May 22, 7-9pm
Intro to Islam with Ameena Jandali

Ameena Jandali is a founding member of the Islamic Networks Group (ING) which counters prejudice against American Muslims by teaching about their traditions and contributions in the context of America’s history and diversity, while building relations with other groups. She teaches on Islam at SF City College, has presented at hundreds of universities, churches & other venues and has spoken about American Muslims on many news outlets. Ameena received her M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from UC-Berkeley, and B.A. in History from the U. of Illinois.

June 5, 7 - 9 pm
Continued Study during Ramadan
Our 2nd class will include further study using course video, text & discussion.

Open to everyone, all perspectives are welcome. We hope you will attend!

Suggested donation: $10 for CHL members; $20 for non-members
