Event Details

One session: Class held on Sunday, November 24, 11:00am - 2:00pm
Class size: 16 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours
Prerequisite:
None! Open to all adults 18 and over (though this class especially welcomes people identifying with the Baby Boomer generation)

You’ve been busy for decades and now is your chance to take that workshop you’ve been putting off. Why improv? It’s fun. It’s social. It’s a great way to engage your imagination. Improv increases the plasticity of the brain and activates playful, lively interaction. Research shows that learning keeps our brains young so come to BATS Improv and learn something fun! Your instructor, Rebecca Stockley, is a Boomer too.

If you've ever been intrigued by improv and want to see what it's all about, this one-time, fun introduction to improv is just for you! This 3-hour workshop will give you the basics behind improvised theater—spontaneity, playfulness, creativity, listening and storytelling, to name a few—and give you a chance to explore what BATS-style improv is all about.  A great way to decide if you'd like to sign up for our longer six-week Foundation 1 class, and a great gift idea for someone who could use 3 hours of laughter!
