"Our club is Owyhee Hula O'hana. It is named for the Hawai'ian people of early Idaho and our hula family (o'hana). My o'hana has had a second home in Hawai'i for 30 years. It's where the hula started touching my life. After attending a hula workshop at BSU with my granddaughter we were invited to join their Polynesian club Hui o Aloha on Tuesday nights. We have been dancing hula on Tuesday night for 14 years now. Although our teacher has since retired our passion for hula continues."
What inspires you?
"Kumu hula, teachers and historians keeping Hawai'ian customs, traditions and spirit alive and well in the 21st century. Their knowledge and insight perpetuate the culture."
