"What is the big deal about fermented foods?"


If you have asked yourself this question, this is your event! Come and join us for an evening, and experience a taste of tradition, and learn the basics of Lacto-Fermentation, and what it means for your health and your wallet.

"Why would I want to try fermented foods in the first place?"


Excellent question. Other than creating beneficial enzymes, b-vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and various strains of probiotics, fermented foods taste amazing! The food is kept kept alive through the fermentation process, preserving nutrients, while breaking it down to be more easily digested.


"Ok, so what will we be learning?"

This is an intro to the world of food fermentation, so we will be starting with simple fermentations, such as Kefir (water and milk), Kvass (an amazing tonic made from beets), Sima (Finnish Lemonade), soda alternatives (Grape, Root Beer, and Ginger) as well as delving into the fun of sauerkraut, pickles, cultured butter, fermented fruit, and more!

Everyone that attends will recieve:

  • A sour-apple start so you can begin fermenting immediately! (Comes with instructions)
