If your staff is not aware of what the Export Administration Regulations are, or has not monitored changes in the regulations, then this class is strongly encouraged. This workshop will help you understand export licensing, export documentation, country specific requirements, security, insurance and record keeping requirements.

This training program facilitated by Karen Dunlap will help you be aware of the new export compliance and documentation requirements including incoterms for all exporters. You will leave the program with a better understanding of the regulations and learn what documents you should be filling out and how to do so accurately to keep your customers, distributors and company ahead of shipment schedule and save time.


Topics Include:

  • Due Diligence: knowing your customer/common red flags
  • Security requirements/penalties
  • Country specific requirements
  • Incoterms
  • Export documentation & filing of the EEI- what you are required to fill-out and retain
  • Schedule B classification
  • NAFTA basics / wood packaging requirements
  • Insurance & record keeping requirements

Who should attend? Anyone involved with exports including: sales, customer service, traffic managers, purchasing managers, compliance officers, shipping and receiving personnel

About the instructor: Karen Dunlap is President and General Manager of Dunlap International Inc. Karen’s 30-plus years of international business experience includes international banking, export operations for an Iowa manufacturing firm, and export management. In 2000, Karen was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the Iowa District Export Council, and remains active, serving her fourth term on the DEC. In December 2014, Karen became a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional. the professional level required in today’s competitive environment.
