Intro to Esalen Massage
In this course you will be introduced to the fundamental elements of Esalen Massage as well as its history and primary influences. The class will consist of exercises to build the group field, demonstrations and supervised practice. This class is appropriate for beginners or experienced massage therapists wanting to increase their repertoire.
About your instructor:
Robin Fann-Costanzo, LMBT#10171, has been working at the Esalen Institute and internationally since 1992 as an Esalen massage crew member and instructor, and registered yoga teacher. In addition to Esalen massage, Robin brings a lifetime of experience in dance and has extensive training in craniosacral therapy, somatoemotional release, gestalt therapy, life coaching and 5-rhythms dance therapy.
Her love for learning and teaching led her to help create the Esalen teacher’s training program, she is featured in the Esalen massage DVD. Robin has developed many of the continuing education programs taught at Esalen and continues to offer classes in Asheville, NC. Robin is currently bodywork director and co-owner of Still Point Wellness.
In 2012 at the World Massage Festival, Robin was honored for her years of dedication in the field of massage and bodywork, by being inducted into the World Massage Hall of Fame!
What should I bring?
Please bring a massage table (if possible), two twin sheets, one pillow case and one queen pillow to use as a bolster. Also, bring massage oil or cream in a leak proof bottle.
