Description
Are you an artist or designer who is curious about using code creatively? This workshop will get you started on exactly that! We’ll start with the basics of Processing and work our way through drawing shapes and building interactive sketches. The focus will be on demystifying visual programming concepts and giving you a foundation to build on for future exploration.
No programming experience necessary. None at all. Really! This workshop is especially for designers and artists who want to get started with visual programming.
Each workshop ticket covers the cost of lunch as well as a copy of the book Getting Started With Processing.
NOTE: Students will need to bring their own laptops (and power cables). We provide internet access if needed. Processing runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. If you have any questions about your system compatability or capability, please drop us a note: classes@hackpittsburgh.org (A week before the class you'll receive another confirmation email with instructions on how to install Processing, and other details.)
NOTE: This class is open to the general public, no shop membership required. For liability reasons, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
When: Saturday August 25th 10am-4pm
Where: HackPittsburgh shop 1936 5th Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15219 (around back on Watson).
If you have any questions please contact classes@hackpittsburgh.org
This is the same class as we ran on February 25th, so if you missed that class, hopefully you can make this one!
