About the instructor

Weekday instructor: Jose, B.A. in Political Science and International Studies. Coding Bootcamp & Apprenticeship Graduate in Web Development. Born and raised on the Southwest side of Chicago, and the son of immigrant parents, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and I wasn't sure what all the options looked like. When I moved to Indiana for High School and College, I was exposed to opportunities I had never imagined. With a lot of hard work and determination, I graduated at the top of my class, in college, and found my way through some awesome companies for work. Along the way, I realized how much future opportunity there is in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. After completing a coding boot camp & apprenticeship, I decided I needed to help other people who may have been in my shoes and may not know what their options look like. I want to show them how, with some hard work and determination, they can find a successful and fulfilling career in web development.

Weekend instructor: Ryan W., I'm a sophomore at DePaul university studying IT with a concentration in web development. During middle school I would spend hours online researching about how computers and websites work. That's when I first discovered code. In my senior year of high school I interned with ChiTAG (Chicago Toy & Game Group), where I've worked as a web developer for the past year. Now I build websites as a consultant. I love what I do and I have dreams of growing an agency as I improve my skill set. I started teaching kids how to code in high school by bringing iPads with coding games to after school programs in Chicago. I've assisted in college introduction to coding classes along with BLUE1647 and I hope to continue working as a teacher and eventually a mentor.
