Intro to Carpentry: Collapsible Chair
Tue, May 9, 2017, 6:00 PM – Tue, May 16, 2017, 9:00 PM PDT
THIS EVENT IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT!
Please consider one of our other Intro to Carpentry classes currently on the calendar.
NOTE: This class meets 6 - 9pm on both Tuesday, 5/9 AND Tuesday, 5/16.
Learn how to accurately cut, assemble, and finish raw lumber to make this collapsible chair. Top and bottom sections nest for easy storage, or slide together to make a quick and comfortable chair when you need it.
Make an awesome chair while taking your woodworking skills to a whole new level! (Not to mention impressing your friends and family. You might be able to barter chairs for new tools - just sayin'!)
Skill level: Beginner/novice (basic familiarity with measuring, power drill/driver, and at least one power saw)
safe and accurate cuts on bandsaw, jigsaw, tablesaw, and chopsaw
drillpress and power drills: Forstner bits, holesaws, countersinking
finishing touches: sanding, routing, plugs
Class fees/scholarships/donations: Class fees include all materials. Scholarships options are available on every class registration page, and are 100% funded through donations from other students. Please accept this gift if you need it; if you can, please consider paying more to pay it forward!
What can/can't I bring to the event? Please wear closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back, remove all hand/wrist/neck jewelry, and avoid baggy clothing or clothing with things hanging from them (sweatshirt hood ties, etc).
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Currently, we are only accepting students over 18 years of age. We are exploring future classes open to minors.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? There is street parking available on the surrounding streets. The #4 bus runs on Mississippi and drops off within a block of the ReBuilding Center. The Overlook Park stop on the Yellow Max Line is about a 15 minute walk, as well.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No - unless your name is different than that of the attendee on the original registration. If that is the case, please bring proof in the form of a printed ticket or other confirmation.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? Yes, tickets can be given to anyone who is over 18 years of age.
What is your refund policy? You may transfer your ticket to another individual who is 18 years of age or older. We currently do not offer refunds; if it is a special scenario, please email email@example.com.
