Intro to Ayurveda
By incorporating ayurvedic wisdom into our life, we get closer to being our healthiest and happiest self—vibrant, energized, and with a deep sense of purpose.
This sacred 5,000 year-old “knowledge of life” is a bit like a manual for being human. Rooted in the philosophy that we are a microcosm reflecting the macrocosm, it gives us wisdom and tools to live in sync with nature's rhythms; to prevent disease and imbalance brought on by age, the seasons, and modern life; and to feed and nurture our own unique mind-body type. Even just a sliver of its wisdom can go a long way; improving energy, digestion, emotional balance, sleep, skin, and even relationships with others.
In this workshop, we’ll delve into ayurvedic philosophy and how to apply it on a daily basis:
● The 5 element theory (bhoota)
● The 3 vital energy forces (dosha)
● Daily ayurvedic rituals and self-care (dinacharya) including tongue scraping, oil pulling, self oil massage, mindful movement, pranayama, and balanced sleep and mealtime rhythms
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring a paper and pen and an open mind. If you have a yoga mat, bring that too!
