Intro to Ableton

About this Event

In this two-hour session, you’ll learn what Ableton does and what it can do for you. See the platform at work interfacing with live instruments, controllers and other applications that can put you on the fast track to producing your own music. This workshop will feature a hands-on demonstration and lots of opportunities for Q & A. You don’t need a copy of Ableton to attend (but if you do own the software, feel free to bring along your laptop).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Greg Gonzalez is an active member of the Austin music community with nearly a decade of experience teaching music production and composition, both privately and as an instructor at the Recording Conservatory of Austin and the Beatlab afterschool program. He has composed and produced music on a variety of DAWS (digital audio work stations) including Protools, Ableton, Reason, Logic, Garageband, Acid, Sonic Forge, Sibelius and Finale.

Greg has been a professional bassist for 25 years and is a founder of the Grammy award winning Latin-funk orchestra Grupo Fantasma as well as its affiliates Brownout, Brown Sabbath, and Money Chicha. Cumulatively these bands have garnered more than a dozen Austin Music Awards, and in 2011 Grupo Fantasma received a Grammy for its self-produced album El Existential.
