Event description

Description

How does 3D printing really work, what do you need to know to use one, and what is actually possible with a consumer-level printer? This class will discuss the realities of 3D printing with a focus on effective use of low-cost printers for prototyping and low-quantity fabrication. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops (Windows/Mac/Linux) so that they can follow along on tours of various freely-available software they can use to create designs and process them for a 3D printer. The instructors will demonstrate use of a consumer 3D printer. Students will not be able to print anything at the class, but part of the course will be a discussion of how to find places to get things 3D printed for you.

The class will be taught by Joan Horvath and Rich Cameron, co-founders of maker tech consultants Nonscriptum LLC. Joan and Rich have also collaborated on six books on 3D printing and wearable tech for Apress.

Register now - ticket price increases to $35 on October 5th!

Parking will be available for a daily rate of $6 at LKIC.
