Event description

Description

There is much research on how to create the conditions for learners to be intrinsically motivated to learn. In this summit we will consider a variety of theories on motivation and identify what practices and structures support our ability to apply this research.

This session will engage teachers, administrators, instructional support staff, and consultants in a conversation about the challenges they face in their attempts to create the conditions that generate intrinsically motivated learners.

School teams and individuals will create action plans for their work back home and meet and discuss with other educators to help problem solve their biggest challenges. Come with a team from your district/school or as an individual and help us problem solve and identify strategies and methods that help support educators as they continue to design the Ideal Learning Experience for each and every one of their learners.

Participants will share learnings, gain insights, network with others, and create action steps that will support efforts to transform their systems.

Outcomes for our Summit: Summit participants will:

Investigate concepts specific to intrinsic motivation theories and identify current structures, practices, and procedures that help provide the conditions for learners to be intrinsically motivated and focused on learning.
Make connections between the work they have been doing to transform their systems/classrooms and how that can impact learners’ motivation and engagement.
leave with a plan of action steps & strategies they can use in their classrooms, and at the building/district level.
share learnings, gain insights, network with others, and create action steps that will support efforts to transform their systems.
