About this event
Intrepid After Hours
Join fellow veterans and service members at the Intrepid Museum to explore the Museum without the crowds. Then join peers for conversation, a behind-the-scenes experience and a catered dinner.
Free for military service members and veterans with advance registration. These programs are closed to civilians, including family members.
Sharing Your Story
We are honoring the stories of veterans and current service members at Intrepid After Hours. Jessica Williams, curator of history and collections, and Dave Dzendzel, senior coordinator of the oral history project, will talk about Intrepid Museum's Oral History Project. Maryhelen Rosales, director of program development at NYC Department of Veterans’ Services, will also share information about their Veteran Voices Project. Participating veterans will then get a chance to interview each other and practice their oral histories. Learn about how you can share your stories and what you can learn from others' stories.
Boxed dinners will be served at the end of the guided program. Both indoor and outdoor seating options will be available.
All visitors must follow the Museum's health and safety guidelines. Following the City of New York’s Emergency Executive Order No. 225, all visitors12 years of age and older must provide proof of at least one vaccination shot against COVID-19, as well as identification, before entering the Museum. Please bring proof and ID with you to the program. Please visit here or review the FAQ below for a list acceptable forms of proof of vaccination and ID.
More details about health guidelines and policies will be sent to all registrants ahead of the program, along with the social narrative. In the meantime, learn more here: intrepidmuseum.org/onboard-with-safety.

Veterans Programs are made possible by public funds facilitated by the New York City Council Committee on Veterans, in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. These programs are also supported by the Craig Newmark Philanthropic Fund. The Museum’s education programs are supported, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of Governor and the New York State Legislature.
