Event description

Description

St John in the Wilderness borders one of the largest unfragmented forests between Virginia and Maine, an area of 14,400 contiguous acres of protected open space spanning three states and designated as one of America's "Last Great Places" by The Nature Conservancy. The 2019 Summer Soirée celebrates the natural world right on our church grounds.

Our parish member Jim Wann will start the gala evening. Jim is the chief composer and leading man for Broadway's Pump Boys and Dinettes. He's a music and theatre artist whose work has been performed across America and around the world. For this special evening Jim and his friends will sing of nature and the wilderness. Get ready for favorite camp songs and a celebration of our natural world.

The celebration continues under a tent with fine wines and delicious bites of summer bounty. The silent auction will feature unique items and special services from generous local businesses and parish members.
