Jazz singer/songwriter Mirna Bogdanović is combining vocal and instrumental, individual and collective, real-time and post-production, perception and reality: presented all in her recently released debut album “Confrontation”. After studying classical piano and jazz vocals in various music Colleges around Europe, she has gained a high level of musical knowledge, which she cleverly uses in her compositions and arrangements.

A native Slovenian/Bosnian that's now based in Berlin, Bogdanović is a Downbeat award winner, former member of the German national big band, scholar of the University of Arts in Berlin, and Ministry of culture in Slovenia. She is an active member of the Berlin jazz scene, has collaborated with many musicians in Germany and abroad, and has performed on international jazz festivals and radio recordings.

Not too many singers have the strength to make themselves independent from the vocal point of view in their own music. Mirna Bogdanović succeeds in squaring the circle by thinking like a pianist, guitarist, saxophonist or producer. - Wolf Kampmann
