Event description

Description

Seeking Peace is a council circle that intentionally uses poetry as a healing practice. For more than twenty years, Street Poets has engaged communities locally and internationally. Through this practice of holding space we are able to witness each other as we explore our personal and cultural wounds, and learn to celebrate our gifts. Street Poets is honored to share Seeking Peace with the larger Los Angeles community as a creative practice for individual and collective transformation.

The Street Poets have partnered with the California Poor Peoples Campaign: A National Call For A Moral Revival to co create a community poetry experience that elevates the four pillars of the campaign!

The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is uniting tens of thousands of people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality.

Guests: Natalie Patterson, Art Quiros, Francisco Escamilla & Kahlil Almustafa
