Event description

Description

There are two dominant narratives of Muslims in the United States: one of terrorists to be feared, and another of victims to be saved. This panel departs from both of these to chart a new narrative. For how do we explore to the beauty of a faith far older than the United States (and practiced by over 25% of the human species) while speaking to the necessity of now (Muslim Bans & hate crimes)? Join us in the salon style chat between sacred truth keepers, Emmy award-winning filmmakers, gender equity designers, and VR/AR technologists, all who practice Islam.

Guests: Maryam Hasnaa, Sahar Pirazada (Vigilant Love), Justin Mashouf (Honest Struggle), Daanish Masood (United Nations)
