Event Details

You're invited to a special opening night performance of Centre Stage's run of the Pulitzer-winning Brooklyn play, Intimate Apparel.

Doors will open at 7:30 and the show will start promptly at 8:00.

Ticket sales from this performance go directly to Greenville Jewish Federation to support future programming and services to our Upstate community.

About the show:

Warm, intelligent, and deeply human, Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel explores the desire for both independence and connection, the insidious effects of racism and classism, the social oppression of women, and the bravery, hard work, friendship, and love, of people who have been forgotten by history.

The play debuted in 2003 and was popularised by actress Viola Davis who won several awards for her performance. Nottage was honoured with a Pulitzer among other industry awards for her work.

The Greenville Jewish Federation (GJF) is 501(c)3 non-profit organization that coordinates fundraising, cultural events, and educational programming for the Upstate Jewish community. Comprised of local volunteers, we are committed to promoting the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedakah (charity and social justice) and Torah (Jewish learning).

The Jewish community of Greenville, South Carolina has a rich and proud history dating back as far as the early 1850s. As with those that came before us, a variety of opportunities and individual circumstances continue to bring new faces and families to the Upstate. With an invigorating mix of tradition and innovation, the Greenville Jewish Federation (GJF) is committed to creating a unifying presence for all Jews who reside in this area…regardless of whether they choose to affiliate. So, we invite you to participate, experience, and enjoy all that Federation has to offer.
