About Second Saturdays
Second Saturday Conversations feature interesting sci-tech and engineering speakers and topics in an informal setting. The programs are held in the Auditorium or Main Reading Room from 11:00 a.m. to Noon.
The exhibition galleries and the William N. Deramus III Cosmology Theater are open 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Free admission and parking. Reference, research, and circulation services are not available on Second Saturdays.
The lecture
As the industrial age wanes, a new era of innovation is rising… one where business and society are tightly intertwined. Lisa Tamayo, CEO and co-founder of Scollar, Inc., will discuss the role of STEAM in driving the new paradigm of purpose driven business.
The speaker
Lisa is CEO and co-founder of Scollar, Inc., bringing over 25 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, business development, and leadership to the company. She was a Co-Founder of Green Building Studio, Inc., which created a SaaS tool and XML schema to condense weeks of architecture and engineering work into mere minutes. Green Building Studio was acquired by Autodesk in 2008. Lisa holds a BA in electronic music and an MBA in sustainable enterprise.
