Program Description: Approving quality foster, adoptive and relative caregivers is preeminently important in achieving safety and well-being of children in foster care. Caregiver assessment is a skilled task. Assessors must have the technical and analytical skills necessary to
conduct insightful interviews, assess information and
render a supported conclusion regarding the caregiver’s current and predicted parental capacity. This workshop will address foundational interviewing skills, assessing parental capacity and mitigating the influences of
interviewer’s dynamics on the outcome of the assessment. Participants will also have the opportunity to process their caregiver assessment case issues using a Peer
CEU's will be provided.
