Description
In honor of Filipino American History Month the "INTERSECTIONS film series on Art, Cultural Identity and Social Justice" will be presenting a screening of DELANO MANONGS, a film by Marissa Aroy, Emmy Award winning filmmaker and director.
This film depicts the little know history of how Filipino leader, Larry Itliong and thousands of Filipino farmworkers who, in 1965, joined forces with Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta in one of the biggest labor struggles in American history. Their combined efforts ultimately forged the United Farm Workers Union (UFW).
There will be a post-screening conversation led by filmmaker Marissa Aroy. The program will be followed by a community reception that will feature a light Filipino fare and music. Please join us and invite your friends!
Parking on the County parking lots is available and free to the public anytime after 5 p.m.
