Event description

Description

Discussion: Supporting Thriving Kids & Families through Interprofessional Collaboration.

The multi-disciplinary team of professionals at the Center for Connection approach with curiosity the problematic behaviors and struggles in order to set aside assumptions or diagnoses that can get in the way of seeing what a child’s behavior is communicating.

Many behaviors are a child’s or adult’s best attempt at adapting; they are showing us that they need better strategies to navigate their world. Behavior and reactivity are communication, showing us the areas in which kids and adults need skill-building.

Looking through the behavior and viewing the nervous system from many different perspectives is essential to creating a plan of action to change a person’s brain and alter how they function in the world—allowing them to be free to be themselves.

During this Grand Rounds, we will share a complex case approached by our practitioners from an integrated perspective informed by our lens of interpersonal neurobiology and discuss various approaches that helped our team better assess, understand, and address the challenges facing the whole child and the whole family.

Benefits and Results of Collective Collaboration:

-Learn how to collaborate with local health practitioners on common cases, or how to hand-off a client to a trusted referral once you've helped them achieve their health goal.

-Network and build genuine relationships with local professionals from complementary disciplines.

-Learn how to refer, and receive referrals from trusted colleagues.

Interprofessional Grand Rounds are created to providing interesting case presentations from local health practitioners who are working to support a common client. Learn alongside local professionals from diverse disciplines including mental health, fitness and rehab, as well as medicine and nutrition.

SPACES ARE LIMITED. The intimate nature of these events are designed to facilitate greater discussion and collaboration.
