About this event

Trends & Predictions from 2,000+ Employers for 2022 College Labor Market

Connect and network with Baltimore area educators and employers to discuss internship programs for college and university students and recruiting trends.  Baltimore's 13 colleges and universities enroll more than 120,000 students who can put their skills to work for your business.

2022's Internship Bootcamp is hosted by Baltimore Collegetown, Maryland Career Consortium, & the Maryland Technology Internship Program and features CERI Director and MSU Academic Research Faculty, Dr. Phil Gardner, to learn more about 2022 trends for full-time, internship, and co-op job seekers.

For 51 years, CERI has been conducting annual research on the college labor market by surveying thousands of employers (non-profits and K-12 schools to start-ups and large employers) to gain insight into the demand for entry-level and early-career hires for internships, co-ops, and full-time employment. The results of the survey are comprehensive and include data specific to regions, employer size, industries, college majors, and more.

This year’s presentation will combine quantitative and qualitative data collected from employers to provide participants with meaningful insight into the impact of the pandemic on the college labor market, including internships/co-ops. It will also include an historical trends analysis and summary of some of the other major events in the U.S. and globally that both impacted and shaped college hiring and career services. From the data and trends, we can begin to understand the extent to which the college labor market will experience challenges, and the industries, degrees, and majors that will be especially impacted in 2022 and beyond. Additionally, this year’s survey includes employer responses to two special topics: 1) student preparation for virtual interviews, and 2) number of interviews required for an offer acceptance by job function.

The bootcamp is FREE but space is limited!  Questions? Please contact Kirsten at
