Description

[To register: RSVP to karen.dockx@ahlers.com before November 30th.]

Internet of Things (IoT) allows for the real-time collection and sharing of information between every element in the value chain, from supply through production to distribution. According to market research company IDC and technology provider Cisco, the number of IoT devices in the world will grow from 12 billion in 2015 to more than 50 billion in 2020. This technology is already rapidly transforming industries such as manufacturing, transport & logistics, energy and utilities. IoT is is simultaneously impacting together 3 elements – technology, economy and culture – in such a way that it can be described as a “perfect storm”.

In our next session of the Collaborative Logistics Information Community for the Chemical Sector (CLICCS), we will explore and discuss the strategic and operational opportunities of this perfect storm for the chemical industry:

  • What are the basic principles of IoT? And what is the technology’s current state of the art?
  • In the chemical supply chain, what are the problems to solve or the opportunities to grab?
  • Can horizontal and vertical collaboration accelerate IoT applications?
  • How do we get started? Can we define quick wins or pilot areas in the CLICCS community?

Please already save the date and join us for another interactive CLICCS workshop, on Tuesday December 19th in Brussels Airport (10am-4pm).

To keep the program interactive, seats are limited and will be given away on first come, first served basis.

Thanks for confirming your interest, we will send out a detailed agenda shortly.
