Celebrate yourself with a bike ride on International Women's Day!
Bike Pittsburgh's Spinnsters–our women and biking program–will be heading out for an evening trail ride to enjoy the company of other women.
This ride should be a great opportunity to meet other women who like to bike, especially if you show up!
International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. Women biking is political! There is a gender gap in biking, and together we are addressing it.
Bring out your bike for a Wednesday evening ride and meet new friends or bring your best lady pal. After the ride we'll head over to a nearby restaurant where we'll be able to get drinks and food. This ride is accessible to beginners as we will mostly stick to the trail. We aim to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
Don't have a bike? Sign up for Healthy Ride bike share, then email email@example.com to receive a rental code and instructions to borrow a Healthy Ride bike for free during the event.
Meeting Details: BikePGH's Membership Manager, Jane, and our volunteer Emily will meet you at the Healthy Ride station located on S 18th Street in the South Side. This is the ending location for the ride as well. This station is located in a parking lot if you would like to drive your bike down to the meeting location. We will be meeting at 6:00pm and leave for the ride by 6:15pm, returning by 7:30pm to go get some optional food and drinks at OTB.
What to bring: Front and rear bike lights. Do your ABCs and check your tire air, brakes, and chain before showing up. All of these things are important for your safety and the safety of others on the ride.
