About this Event

Windsor House Nannies celebrates International Nanny Training Day to recognize the needs of young children and to raise awareness of the importance of nanny training and it’s effect on quality care. This national initiative is part of Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Lesson planning for your charges

Katherine Mackay.

How to create meaningful and developmentally appropriate lesson outlines, as well as a road map to pace and plan for future exploration.

Katherine Mackay graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2016, with a degree in Applied Learning and Development and an English Second Language certification. Since graduation, Katherine has been passionate about helping students grow holistically - working to develop their cultural, social, emotional, and academic needs. Katherine began her career teaching Math and Science at B.B. Rice Elementary, outside of Houston. This initial year of teaching made her fall in love with the craft as she saw how authentic relationships can help students feel truly invested in their own education. Though it was bittersweet to leave these incredible students, Katherine moved the following year to join her husband in Austin. She began teaching at St. Austin’s Catholic School as a second grade teacher, where she gained a special interest in the importance of early childhood education and how early childhood education sets a foundation for social and emotional growth. Katherine has taught Pre-Primary at WonderWell for the past two years. She has enjoyed every moment of her time at WonderWell and has loved being a part of a community that believes in authentic, hands-on pedagogy that develops the whole child. Katherine has fallen in love with the Pre-Primary age group - such a beautiful age of curiosity, kindness, and love.
