Alfonso Ortiz Tirado was an opera singer and medical doctor born in Álamos, Sonora, Mexico. Since 1984, in Álamos, Sonora the International Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado has been held in his honor on his birthday, January 24th. This festival is also known as "FAOT," the 2nd Largest Music Festival in Mexico, where musicians of international stature intervene and some artistic activities are carried out.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
From anytime after official booking to 30 days prior to start of tour, the Cancellation Fee is 50% of tour price. 30 days or less prior to start of tour or during tour, the Fee is 100% of tour price. Time of cancellation will be when notice is received & confirmed by Desert Grace Tours LLC.
ABOUT ALFONSO ORTIZ TIRADO:
Alfonso's musical talent was apparent early in life but he also studied at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria and university to become a doctor. He eventually became the personal physician of Frida Kahlo and performed surgery on Agustín Lara. As a musician, he had a successful international career as an opera singer, earning the label of “Tenor of the Americas.” He was often cast for productions of L'elisir d'amore and Madame Butterfly. He established a children’s hospital in Mexico City. Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado (FAOT) in the state of Sonora was named after him.
