INDIAN COOKING CLASS

In our next class for our International Cooking Class Series, “Flavors of San Antonio,” we are traveling back to India. By popular demand - our “Indian Delegation” will teach a class on Saturday, September 29.

The enticing menu includes:

CHICKEN BIRIYANI - A popular traditional dish found throughout India is made with chicken that has been marinated in yogurt and spices. It is a mixture of chicken and rice and is seasoned with Garam Masala made with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, fennel & more.

RAITA - A yogurt based sauce made with onions, cucumbers and green chili. It is often served alongside Chicken Biriyani and other spicy dishes to cool the palette.

BEGAN BARTHA - A Northern Indian dish made with roasted eggplant that is cooked with onions, tomatoes, spices & cilantro.

PURI - A fry bread that is the Indian version of a puffy taco.

LASSI - A cooling and refreshing mango & yogurt drink served typically served in the summer throughout India.

COCONUT CHUTNEY - A condiment made from ground coconut seasoned with mustard seeds.

KESARI - A popular South Indian dessert made with farina, ghee, sugar and nuts served which is served on special occasions.
