Climate change presents serious threats...

About this Event

Climate change presents serious threats to the global economy, environment and security, and a significant number of businesses, scientists, NGOs, policymakers, and thought leaders are increasingly calling for two important actions: implementation of carbon pricing and deployment carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). According to the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, “A well-designed carbon price is an indispensable part of a strategy for reducing emissions in an efficient way.” According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), CCUS is an essential element of all projected low-cost pathways that limit warming to 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius.

At this event, held in the context of COP25, experts from Columbia’s Center for Global Energy Policy and Chile’s Ministry of Energy, as well as C-level executives from global firms and officials from international agencies, will discuss:

How to make carbon pricing work most effectively with other climate and economic policies

Strategies to encourage the successful deployment of carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies
